O’HARA, FRANCIS C.
It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Francis C. “Frank” O’Hara of Saint John, who passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital with family at his side, on Wednesday March 16, 2016. Born in St. Martins Oct of 1933 the son of the late Otto and Violet (Tingley) O’Hara. Frank was an Engineering Technician and worked for NBTel for over 34 years retiring in 1991. He was very dedicated to his family and community. He was a 3rd Degree Member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 6595; a member of Toastmasters; was a recipient of the Bishop Dollard Medal and enjoyed bowling and woodworking. Frank is survived by his sons Sean (Maureen) of Saint John, Timothy (Ed Crabtree) of North Carolina and Michael (Leanne) of New Denmark, NB ; daughter Christine O’Hara of Saint John; brother Charles (Glenda) of Shepody; sisters Mary Richardson of Riverview and Patricia Charette (Albeo) of Van Buren, ME; grandchildren Alexander, Joseph, Madelyn and Evan O’Hara, Shantel Beck (Corey Briggs), Kurt Pelletier and Ian and Keaton O’Hara; several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his loving wife Clare (Dawson) O’Hara and an infant son Robert O’Hara.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Saturday and Sunday March 19th and 20th from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. A Knights of Columbus prayer service will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday March 21st from St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 135 Simpson Drive at 11 a.m., followed by a reception. Private family burial to take place at Holy Ghost Cemetery, Riverside in the spring.
