Ann I. Burnett (nee McNeil)

Ann Burnett passed away peacefully in the Duke of Devonshire residence on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at the age of 94.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Hope Pioro and Helen Blaskie (John), her son, John (Brenda), and her 7 grandchildren, Anastasia, Alex, Kassie, Jessica, Shawn, Paul and Emily and her most recent pride and joy her great-grandsons, William and Walker. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Adena McNeil (Burlington, ON), Jean Farris (Charlottetown, PEI) and Mary Burnett (Round Hill, NS) and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Ann was predeceased by her husband Lyn Burnett, her brothers, Bruce McNeil and Gordon McNeil, and her sisters, Helen Palmer and Kay Viel.
Ann was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia on June 29, 1921, daughter of the late William and Louisa Jane (O'Brien) McNeil. She graduated from Acadia University (B.Sc. 1943) and married Lyn Burnett in 1950. A few of the places she worked were Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax, the University of Guelph, University of Western Ontario and the Canada Department of Agriculture in Ottawa. She was actively involved in charity work with the Anglican Church and The University Women's Club. Our mum really enjoyed keeping up with friends and family across the country. We will have a hard time to do as good a job as she did.
Remembrance Service will be held at All Saints Westboro Anglican Church, 347 Richmond Road, on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 1 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held this summer at St. Michael’s Church, Windsor Forks, NS.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
