LAMKEY, MARJORIE I.
1922 - 2016
Miramichi, N.B. - Marjorie Isabel Lamkey, widow of the late Donald W.K. Lamkey, of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, and formerly of the South Napan Road, passed away at her residence on Friday, March 18, 2016, at the age of 93. Born in Black River Bridge, on September 23, 1922, she was the daughter of the late George and Catherine (Sweezey) Fowlie.
She was a homemaker and an employee of the former Miramichi Seafood Restaurant, Chatham as well as W.S. Loggie Co. Ltd. She was an adherent of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi.
She is survived by three daughters, Doreen Allen, of Miramichi, Lee Searle (Peter), of New Glasgow, N.S., Toby Daley (Keith), of Napan; four grandchildren, Wayne, Barry, Tami, Brent; seven great grandchildren, Donnie, Ashley, Jeana, Ryan, Jayden, Taylor, Brandon Mitchell; two great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, Tracy and Tanya Daley, both of Fredericton; one brother-in-law, Thomas Lamkey (Agnes), of Napan.
She was predeceased by one sister, Bertha MacDonald; one brother, Byron Fowlie; one son in law, Dan Allen; one grandchild, Sherry Mitchell; one great-grandchild, Dylan McEachern.
By request there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A public graveside service will be held at Black River Community Cemetery, later in the spring, at a time to be announced, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi Chapter of the Alzheimers Society or the Miramichi S.P.C.A., would be appreciated by the family.
