The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, March 21, 2016, of Florence Ethelbert “Bertie” Chappell, of Andrews of Summerside and formerly of Sherbrooke, aged 87 years. Beloved wife of the late Prowse Chappell. Born in Tryon, she was the daughter of the late Rex and Florence (Matheson) Dawson. Survived by her children Ron (Sue) Chappell, Debby Chappell (Rainer Zenner), Cindy (Ronnie) Carragher; grandchildren Carla, Alexander (Crystal), Emily, Patrick and Shannon Chappell (Kayna Hardman); Mark Carragher (Laura Stanley) and Scott (Kaela) Carragher; sisters Vessie Trudelle and Margaret Paton; and by a sister-in-law Helen Dawson. Predeceased by her son Wayne; sisters Martha (Don) Schurman and Hazel (Loren) Sandler; brother Myron Dawson and brothers-in-law Emile Trudelle and John Paton. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Thursday, then to Summerside Baptist Church, for funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4 -7 p.m. Memorial donations to the International Children’s Memorial Place or the Summerside Baptist Church would be appreciated.
