With saddened hearts, the family of Aldon Douglas Duncan, 85, announce his passing on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Frederick Hall, Shannex, Fredericton. Born in Fredericton October 22, 1930, Aldon was a son of the late James and Cora (Barton) Duncan. Aside from his parents, Aldon was predeceased by a sister Rebecca Dunphy (late James) and brothers, William, George, David, Jack and Eugene.
Aldon’s working career included both the Trucking Industry and the Construction Industry. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time hunting and fishing and especially four-wheeling. Another favorite pastime was spending time at his camp surrounded by his family and friends. Aldon was a member of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Fredericton.
Aldon leaves behind his dear wife of 63 years, Louise (Sarah) L. (Chute) Duncan; sons, Douglas (Cindy) and Donald (Janet) both of Hanwell; daughters, Linda Goss (Mike Wall) of Mazerall Settlement and Susan Bosence (John) of Saint John. Aldon dearly loved his eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Kenneth (late Agnes) of Hanwell and Robert (late Marg) of Harvey; sisters-in-law Marjorie, Ethel, Ella, Barbara and Janet Duncan; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are invited to visit with the family at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Sunday afternoon, March 27 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A service celebrating the life of Aldon Douglas Duncan will be held from St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Woodstock Road, on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Canon Dr. Ross Hebb officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons, Kristopher Hamilton, Colin and Ryan Duncan, Eric and Stephen Goss, John Luke Bosence and granddaughters, Erin Fullerton and Lindsay Shanks. Interment in Action Cemetery at a later date.
