PHILLIPS, DAVID ALAN
David A. Phillips, 70, of Riverview, with his family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, March 27, 2016. Born in Woodstock, he was the son of the late Gerald and Geraldine (Crommett) Phillips.
David was a retired school teacher, with over 30 years’ service, retiring as Principal at J.M.A. Armstrong High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church Moncton, a member of the church choir and served his church in various capacities over the years. David was a member of the Board of Trustees at Crandall University and was involved in several groups and organizations in past years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, being “Mr. Fix-It” around the house and spending time with his family and friends.
David will be sadly missed by his wife of 48 years, Jean (Crawford) Phillips; sons, Matthew Phillips (Misty) of Riverview and Thomas Phillips of Victoria, BC and cherished grandson, Oliver; several nieces, nephews and extended family. David was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate David’s life will be held at First Baptist Church Moncton, 157 Queen St., on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Dr. J. Richard Jackson officiating. Reception following the service.
In David’s memory, donations to Crandall University, First Baptist Church Moncton or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
