Ralph Leland Dickieson

The death occurred peacefully, with family at his side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, of Ralph Dickieson, beloved partner of Evelyn Ford (nee Newson), of Charlottetown and formerly of New Glasgow, aged 88.
Ralph was the loving father of Erna Glydon (Bill), of Alberton; Faye (Tony), of Calgary, Alberta; Stephen (Cathy), of Milton; and Scott, of New Glasgow; grandfather of Troy Glydon and Shannon Christie (Steve); Jason Hickey and Krista Hickey (Chad Drummond); and Ryan, Matthew and Samantha Dickieson; and great-grandfather of Holden, Hope and Ruby. He is also survived by his brother, Blois Dickieson (Uldine); niece, Wendy; nephew, Douglas; and many friends.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Wallace and Alice "Yi-Yi" (Weeks) Dickieson; and Wanda Dickieson, the mother of his children.
Ralph had a very active life as businessman, community leader, volunteer fireman and chief, and teacher. He was one of the original owners of New Glasgow Lobster Suppers, the first manager, and managed the business for many years. He was a coin and antique collector, accomplished artist, author, ham radio operator (VY2AD) and woodworker. He excelled at everything he put his mind to. He will be missed by many friends.
Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Saturday, April 2, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held at New Glasgow Christian Church, on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 2 p.m. Interment in New Glasgow Cemetery.
