ELSIE LEBLANC
1940 – 2016

Elsie was the first born to John and Helen Palko. She and her brother Eddie went to Pine Creek School in Mistatim, Saskatchewan. She completed grades 11 and 12 at Tisdale Composite High School, graduating in June of 1957. After graduation, she began teaching school as a study supervisor. On July 14, 1960, Elsie married George (Pete) Leblanc at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Mistatim. Elsie is survived by her loving husband, Pete, of 55 years, her four beloved children, Angela (Darren) Cyca of Regina, SK, Laura (Bill) Hahn of Quill Lake, SK, Paula James (David Shaw) of Kamloops, BC, and Pierre Leblanc (Shanelle Harvey) of Prince Albert, SK, her five grandchildren, Devin Stuart, Sidney and Quinn Cyca of Regina, SK, and Christopher and Matthew James of Grande Prairie, AB, and her brother, Eddie (Marilyn) Palko of Shellbrook, SK, and their children. She was predeceased by her parents, Helen (on July 14, 1980) and John (on May 23, 1986). As her children, we were committed to ensuring her life was lived and supported at home as she wanted until she left this world. We were able to do this through the support of her doctors, home care, Prince Albert Palliative Care, Saskatoon Cancer Lodge, Weldon Care Home, and our families, relatives and friends. Elsie’s memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at River Park Memorial Chapel, Father Roque Concepcion officiating. Interment will follow at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Saskatoon Cancer Lodge, 20 Campus Drive, Saskatoon, SK, S7N 4H4, Prince Albert Hospice Palliative Home Care Association, Box 1711, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 5T3, or to a Canadian charity of your choice.
