Walter Alexander Marshall
July 30, 1940 – March 27, 2016

Wally spent his childhood growing up in Regina, Silver Park area of Melfort, Saskatoon and Alingly before striking out on his own. He was working on the Hanson Lake Road when he met his lifelong love Margo Falloon in Smeaton Saskatchewan.  Wally became a Prince Albert City Police Officer and during his tenure with the PA City Police, Wally was the President of the Saskatchewan Police Federation and along with Margo played in the popular band at the time known as the Midnighters. In 1969 they moved to Smeaton to become partners in Smeaton Hotel with George and Ella Falloon and Jim and Shirley Falloon.  Wally worked for Smeaton Service for a few years and then started his own trucking company with partner Don Holliday called HOLMAR Trucking.  Wally spent the balance of his career operating equipment with PA Pulp and also worked in the Northwest Territories, Norman Wells, the R.M. of Torch River, on the Alliance Pipeline, the Lloydminster Upgrader and then in the oilfield industry in Alberta before his retirement in 2008. Wally loved reading, fishing, playing cards and was an amazing story teller.  He was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Wally is survived by his wife Margo; his children Shannon (John Mansbridge), Kelly and Jodi; his grandchildren Lindsay, Jennifer, John, Adam, Kaley, Delainey, Adrianna, Chase, Hannah and Cayden; his great grandchildren Rylee, Ayden, Charli, Ally, Nora, Burton, Annika, Chloe and Ella; his siblings Joyce and Ken, Faye and Marty, and James; his brother-in-law Doug; his in-laws Marlene and Morris, Linda, Sharon and Larry, Rick and Doreen, and Dave and Joan; awesome aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; his wonderful friends who he valued dearly; and, of course, his dog Lola. He was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Frances Marshall; his parents-in-law George and Ella Falloon; his brother Jack and sister Belle. Come and go tea and Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at The Smeaton Rec Centre, Smeaton, SK. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to North Haven Personal Care Home, Smeaton, SK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
