We, the family of Emily Hinks, 59, regret to announce her passing on March 31, 2016 in Edmonton, Alta. after a very courageous
battle with cancer.
Emily was born in Little Bras d’Or to the late Harold (Harry) Serroul and Dorothy (Day) Serroul.
Emily is survived by her husband of 35 years, Rick Hinks; her three daughters, Jana (Dave) Harper, Amy (Jesse Williamson) and Rikki
(Brendan Chlan); her five grandchildren, Emily and Kingsley Harper, Jack Williamson, and Kolbi and Liv Chlan, all of Sherwood Park, Alta.; her sisters and brothers, Gena (Peter) Burchell, Calgary, Alta., Lloyd (Sherri Johnston), Edmonton, Alta., Giselle (Rob) Pero, Sydney Mines, N.S., Walter (Beth Barrie), Scotch Village, N.S. and Alana (Gordon Purves), Little Bras d’Or; her father-in-law, Frank (Sonja) Hinks, B.C.; along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides her father, Emily was predeceased by her brother, Harold 'Hal' Serroul; her mother-in-law, Phyllis Hinks and brothers-in- law, Rod and Randy Hinks.
Emily enjoyed a special bond with her daughters and made many happy memories that they will cherish and share with her grandchildren. Emily and Rick enjoyed travelling and testing their skills on the many golf courses they visited during their travels.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. Funeral service will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 11 Brower Dr., Sherwood Park on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 10 a.m.
Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or charity of ones choice.
