Basque-McGloin-Benoit, Obeline
It is with sad hearts that the family of Obeline Basque McGloin Benoit of Fredericton announce her passing on April 7 2016 at Thomas Hall. She was 95 Years. Born April 3rd 1921 in Tracadie, NB, she was a daughter of the late Fabien and Cecilia (Doiron) Basque, wife of the late Bill McGloin(1985) and Arthur Benoit(1996).
Obeline is survived by her children; John (Joyce), Jim (Denyse), Mary (Bill Saunders) and Helen (Terry Arnold), step-daughter, Lydia Laplante (Gilles), sisters; Alice Basque, Jeanette Richard (Come), Jeannine Bouchard (Roland) and Blanche MacPherson (Kent) brother Paul Basque. 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren as well as several cousins’ nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters; Suzanne Stewart , Cecile White and Dawn Weston, three brothers; Herman, Fabian and Arthur Basque, daughter-in-law Elodie, step-sister Celine McGloin, step-brother Guillaume Basque and step-daughter Elise McGrath.
There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be held on Monday April 11th 2016 at 10 AM, from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel, 540 Woodstock Road with Father Monte Peters officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
Memorial may be made to the Our Lady of Fatima Building Fund.
