Ada Forsyth age 99 years of Eastend, Saskatchewan died on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Eastend Wolf Willow Health Centre in Eastend.
She was born on the family farm in the Eastbrook District south of Eastend on October 23, 1916 and attended school at Eastbrook School. She helped out at home on the farm until she married George Forsyth on September 11, 1937 in Manitoba. They lived in Manitoba for three years before taking over the William Forsyth farm at Eastend. They continued to live and farm there until the early 1970’s when they retired and moved into Eastend. They enjoyed their retirement years and for 26 years they travelled, spending their winters in Arizona. Ada enjoyed dancing and spent her Saturday nights at the Senior’s Centre in Eastend and travelled to the Old Tyme dances in the area. Ada loved people and there was always someone stopping by for a coffee and a cookie. She loved playing cards and was a member of several bridge and whist groups. She was an active member of the Eastend Cemetery League, Eastbrook Ladies’ Club, Eastend Historical Museum and Ceramics Club. Ada was so proud of her Audrey, constantly interested in the activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and they were welcome in her home at any time. Ada became a great great grandmother two days before her passing. Ada and her great great granddaughter share the same middle name, Pearl. Ada always kept interested in the farm.
She was predeceased by her husband George on July 26, 1998, her son-in-law Glen Taylor on September 18, 2005, her parents Duncan and Molly McCuaig, her father-in-law Bill Forsyth, step-mother Ethel McCuaig, four brothers, Duncan McCuaig, Oliver McCuaig, Findlay McCuaig, Nick McCuaig, three sisters-in-law, Florence McCuaig, Vera McCuaig and Jean McCuaig, four step-brothers, Bob Glassford, Dick Glassford, Sydney Glassford and Albert Glassford, step-sister Sue Smith, step-sisters-in-law Ruby Glassford, Pat Glassford and Vi Glassford and step brother-in-law Art Smith.
She is survived by her daughter Audrey Taylor of Eastend, grandson Blaine Taylor (Barb) of Eastend, great granddaughter Jillian Johnston (Shawn), great great granddaughter Rhyan Pearl, great grandson Mitchel Taylor (Samantha Elder); grandson Boyd Taylor of Eastend; granddaughter Heather Arendt (Ronnie) of Eastend, great granddaughters Janelle Arendt (Steven) and Kara Arendt (Jean-Simon); granddaughter Twylla Kinch (Mike) of Swift Current and great grandson Taylor Kinch; sister-in-law Evelyn McCuaig of Eastend, step-sister-in-law Zelda Glassford of Saskatoon, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held from Eastend United Church in Eastend on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Shelby Kinrade officiating. A tribute was presented by Janelle Arendt and a video tribute was shown. Interment of her cremated remains took place at Riverside Cemetery at Eastend.
