GRANT, DONALD DOUGLAS
It is with great sadness that the family of Donald D. Grant of Harvey, York Co., NB announces his sudden passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on April 11, 2016 at the age of 79. He was the son of the late Donald and Mary (McCracken) Grant of Canterbury, NB.
Don is survived by his wife, Brenda (Wright) Grant; his daughters, Penny Grant, Fredericton, NB and Tammy Carvell (Frank), Lakeville, NB; step-daughters, Kathy Troy, Fort McMurray, AB and Shelley Kossick (Joe), Edmonton, AB; a step-son Cary Grant, Canterbury, NB; granddaughters, Shannon Good (Nick), Fredericton, Nancy Carvell, Campbellton, NB, Lyndsey Carvell , Oromocto, NB and Alicia Carvell, Lakeville, NB; step-granddaughters, Jennifer Sharp (Anthony), Southampton, NB, Shannon Troy (Cyprian) and Kristan Leonard (Joeh), both of Fort McMurray, AB and Ashley Grant, Canterbury, NB; a step-grandson, Patrick Troy, Fort McMurray, AB; a great-granddaughter, Florence Good; step-great granddaughters, Evelyn Leonard, Maddison and Mallory Sharp; a step-great grandson, Jaxen Leonard; his brothers, Ralph Grant (Geraldine), Lester Grant (Pat) and Cyril Grant (Miriam) and his sister, Sherry Smith (Allison), all of Canterbury, NB; his aunt, Ruth Denyer, St. Stephen, NB; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Freda (Henry) Grant.
Don enjoyed his time with family and friends and time spent at Lake George and Skiff Lake. His love of nature, hunting, fishing, wheeling, snowmobiling and feeding the birds, gave him great pleasure. His positive spirit and laughter was infectious among his regular Wednesday morning coffee mates.
Visitation will be held at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrews United Church, Harvey, NB on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 2 pm with Rev. Kay Clowater officiating. Interment at Magundy Sand Bank Cemetery.
