Linus Smith, formerly of Kelly's Cross and the beloved husband of Agnes Smith (nee Trainor) for 60 years, passed away peacefully, with family at his side, at The Garden Home on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at the age of 94.
Linus was the father of Mary Claire Russell (Ben) and Carl Smith; and grandfather of Adam (Christy), Sarah and Katie (Jason). He is also survived by his brother, Frank Smith (Noreen); sister-in-law, Sr. Vivien Trainor, CSM; brother-in-law, St. Clair Trainor (Clara); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Special thanks to grand-niece, Shelley Heron (Shawn); and niece, Maureen Smith, for all their care and compassion over the last few years.
Linus was predeceased by his parents, Jerome and Maria; brothers, Joseph, Leo, St. Clair and Anthony; and sisters, Mary Ellen, in infancy, Helen, Mary, Rose, Margaret, Rita, Sarah and Catherine.
He is resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for a visitation on Friday, April 15, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. His funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Kelly's Cross, on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
