Dorothy Lois Hovdebo (nee Cook) July 18, 1943 - March 23, 2016

Once again with heavy hearts we have to say goodbye to our mother, daughter, Grammie, and sister. After a short battle with lung cancer, Dorothy passed away in the Vulcan Hospital, Vulcan, Alberta on March 23rd, 2016.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Debra Bachek (Kim) and grandchildren Kyle Hovdebo (Kailee) and great-grandchildren Harper and Mavrick; Jordan Hovdebo and Myles Hovdebo; step grandchildren Chantel Bachek, Danis Bachek-Latimer (Cody) and their children Cade and Luke and Talisa Bachek (Phil Canaday) and their daughter Osha; her son Kenton (Jasper) Hovdebo and grandchildren Conrad Hovdebo and Samuel Hovdebo and their mother Lisa. She is also survived by her mother May Cook, sister-in-law Judy Bruce (Les), and brother-in-law Dale Hewison. Dorothy was predeceased by her longtime companion and husband of 53 years, Cecil, her sister Sandra (Cook) Hewison, her father Edward Cook, her in-laws Nels and Tillie Hovdebo, and her brother-in-law Neil Hovdebo.

A Family Memorial will take place at a later date. Inurnment Candle Lake Cemetery, Candle Lake, Saskatchewan.

In lieu of other tributes and flowers, donations can be made to a charity that Mom felt was so special and touching. She was always proud and supportive of her grandsons. Myles is an instructor/coach with Top Prospects Goaltending and they contribute a portion of their fees to support The Children's Wish Foundation.
