Clarence Lewis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clarence Lewis, 89, formerly of Lower Maccan, NS, at the Gables Lodge, Amherst on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Born in Lynn Mountain, NS, Clarence was a son of the late Howard and Eliza Jane Lewis.
Clarence spent his working years in the woods, marsh lands, and was formerly employed with Premdor until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed his garden, piling winter wood, keeping his lawn neat, and was well known for his guitar playing every Christmas Eve with the family.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters Anna (Wally) Brown, Chapman Settlement, NS, Susan (Paul) Arsenault, Amherst and Tracy (Greg) Smith, West Brook; grandchildren Johnathan, Cynthia, Jacquelyn and Ryan, and several nieces and nephews.
Clarence was the last surviving member or his immediate family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Doreen (nee Quinn), in 2015; two infant daughters, Marilyn and Darlene; brothers Aaron and Ross Lewis, and sisters Ida, Annie, Elsie Eva, and Nellie.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care and guidance of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777) from where a time of visitation will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 am
Donations in memory of Clarence may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
