GILLESPIE, RUTH
Mrs. Ruth Velma (Sullivan) Gillespie wife of the late Charles Walter Gillespie of Route 8, Blissfield NB passed away Wednesday April 13, 2016 at Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 89.
Born in Holton Maine, she was the daughter of the late Ernest John and Hazel Margurite (Clark) Sullivan. She was a homemaker, a member of Blissfiled Wesleyan Church, Church Organist, Church Treasurer and a member of the Women’s Missionary.
She is survived by one daughter, Helen Eva Bishop of Blissfield, one son, Ernest Theodore Gillespie of Grand Lake NS, one brother, Kenneth Sullivan of Blackville, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and her husband Charles, she was predeceased by three daughters, Dorothy Gillespie, Charlene Grace Gillespie and Margaret Gillespie, two sisters, Glenna Jean King (John) and Evelyn Eva Arbeau(Myles), half sister, Dorothy Watson, three half brothers, Jack, Jim and Herbert Sullivan.
Mrs. Ruth Velma (Sullivan) Gillespie rested at Blissfield Wesleyan Church with visitation on Saturday from 2 to 8. The Funeral Service was held Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Blissfield Wesleyan Church, with Reverend David Ingersoll officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. A reception followed at St. Andrew’s United Church Hall, Blackville.
