The passing of Grace Antoinette (Paquet) LaRochelle, wife of the late Roy LaRochelle of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 10, 1926 in Souris, PEI, she was the daughter of the late St. Clair and Matilda (MacAulay) Paquet. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Joseph LaRochelle and sister, Edna Almond. Grace is survived by her devoted son, Wayne (Cathy) LaRochelle. She will be sadly missed by her beloved granddaughters, Hannah and Megan; sisters, Eleanor Hughes of Charlottetown, PEI and Claire MacEwen of Fredericton, NB; brother, Alan Paquet (Maureen) of Summerside, PEI; sister-in-law, Inez Ricamore of Bloomfield Hills, MI; and many nieces and nephews.
Grace spent many years selling real estate in Fredericton before retiring in the early 1990s. Grace and her husband Roy enjoyed travelling in their retirement including winters in the Southern US, and visiting family and friends throughout Canada and the United States. Grace spent many years golfing with Roy and took great joy in spending time and spoiling her dearly loved granddaughters. Grace always found comfort and contentment in her faith, and her family will draw on this during their time of loss.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 11 am with Father John Jennings as celebrant. Interment will take place in Hermitage Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
