DRYDEN, JAMES
It is with sadness that the family of James “Jim” Edward Dryden announces his passing which occurred on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1938 in South Oromocto Lake, he was the son of the late Robert and Jessie (McAleer) Dryden.
Jim was employed with the Department of Natural Resources as a Forest Ranger for 30 years. He was an active and faithful member of RiverCross Church (formerly Main Street Baptist Church). In his earlier years he was a member of the NB Coon and Cat Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Nancy (Rowley) Dryden; daughters Diane (Kevin) Johnston, Patricia (Calvin) Scott and Lynda (Paul) McAleer; son Ken McAleer (Sherry); grandchildren Rev. Andrew (Sandra) Scott and Matthew Poole; three great-grandchildren; brothers Robert (Barb) Dryden and John (Mae) Dryden; sister Mary (Lawrence) Hoyt; several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held at RiverCross Church, 61 Forbes Drive on Tuesday April 19, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at RiverCross Church on Wednesday April 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. Interment will be held in Fernhill Cemetery at a later date.
