It is with sadness that the family of Clyde Final Elliott age 81 of Fenwick announce his passing on Monday, April 11, 2016 at home and has now gone home to be with his Lord.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Frank and Beatrice (Clarke) Elliott.
For many years Clyde was a truck driver for various companies hauling aircraft parts to the US and later worked for R.A. Archibald’s Trucking. He returned to Elliott Amusement and retired from the Department of Transportation. Clyde was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by his wife Bonita (Lawless), daughters Debra Landry of Amherst, Nancy (Michael) Giffin of Port George, NS, Monique (Tom) Yurkiw of Perth, ON and Tammy (Jeff) of Amherst, sons Clyde Jr. of Amherst, Carl (Varlene) of Fenwick, Clayton (Linda) of Kelowna, BC and Caleb (Wendy) of Moncton, granddaughters Theresa (George) and Crystal (Jared) Chitty both of Amherst who were raised and adopted by Clyde and Bonita 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, niece Suzanne Speight and nephew Frank D. Elliott both of Amherst and many more nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Clyde was predeceased by a grandson Matthew Landry, son in law Robert F. Landry, sisters Areatha Hoeg and Doreen Clark and brothers Frank, Wendell, Glynn and Ron and his first wife the former Ethel Tower.
Visitation was held on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-9906)
Funeral service was held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 1 p.m. in Campbell’s Chapel with Mr. Ken Taylor officiating.
Interment will take place in the Fenwick Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Clyde’s memory may be made to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre Palliative Care or the Cumberland Hospice Society or the charity of your choice.
