Mary Eileen "Bun" Lewis

LEWIS, MARY EILEEN "BUN"
(1934 - 2016)
It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Eileen "Bun" Lewis (nee Logan) announce her sudden passing Monday, April 18, 2016 in the Palliative Care Unit of The Saint John Regional Hospital.
Mary Eileen is predeceased by her husband, John Jude Lewis and will be forever and deeply loved and missed by her three children: Michael (Irene) Lewis, Kelly Blaine Lewis, and Sylvie (Jeff) Fitzgerald as well as her four beautiful grandchildren Julia (Peter) Halford, Jacob Lewis and Jude and Sydney Fitzgerald. Mary Eileen was also a great-grandmother to Benjamin, Penelope, Abigail and Eleanor Halford.
Born in Saint John, April 9, 1934, Mary Eileen "Bun" was the daughter of the late Elvin Logan and Dorothy (Harris). Bun is predeceased by brothers Bobby (Shirley) Logan, and Frederick (Joan) Logan and sisters, Jean (Don) Coughlan, Dorothy (Frank) Peters and Mary (Laurie) Leger. She is survived by sisters Barbara Burgess, Patricia Connolly, and Marian (Murray) King, as well as brothers James (Judy) Logan and David (Doreen) Logan.
Bun (Aunt Bunny) was a beloved aunt to scores of nieces and nephews, with three nieces particularly close to her heart, Susan Langteigne (already in heaven), Joni Tilly and Heather Peters. She will be sadly missed by many for her countless little kindnesses.
Mum loved to draw and paint and created many family masterpieces that will be treasured always. She loved to read and knit and play with her cat, Janey. She was a wise little lady who spent her time happily in the company of her family teaching us the secrets to a happy life. She was the light on top of our family tree.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday, April 21 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 12:10 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or maybe just go buy yourself a little something… mom would like that. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
