Lucas, Elaine Shirley – age 58, Truro, passed away suddenly at home on April 18, 2016. Born in Truro, she was a devoted daughter of the late Marshall and Charlotte (Ogilvie) McLellan. Elaine was a former employee of Crossley Carpets and the CIBC in Truro. She was a very caring and gracious person and a proud mother and grandmother. She was a lover of animals, especially her cat “Mr”. She is survived by her son, Nathan Deal, Truro; grandson, Chandler; sisters, Ardyth (Douglas) Lynds, Valley, Jean (Fulton) MacKenzie, Truro, Evelyn (Fred) MacDonald, Peterborough, Ont.; brothers, Jerry (Julia), Old Barns, Ron (Gail), Bathurst, NB; special friend Joan (Rick) Hansen; several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 23rd at 10 am in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. John Parsons officiating. Reception and visitation will follow the service. Interment in Robie Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohns and Colitis Foundation, the Colchester SPCA or a charity of choice.
