(1942-2016)
SOUTH BRANCH, NB – Terry Beers 73, of South Branch passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Thursday, April 21, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Ford Bank, NB, he was the son of the late Stanley Beers and late Mildred (Reid) Beers.
Terry was employed as a carpenter, he worked on bridges and was also employed at Plibrico Refractory for many years. He was a former member of the Rexton Lion’s Club. Terry was member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church and volunteered much of his time with the church and hall upkeep.
Terry enjoyed his daily drives to town, a good game of cards and his dog “Baby”. He had a great sense of humor, loved a great joke and having the last word.
Terry will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Carol (Hudson) Beers of South Branch; one daughter, Christine Beers (Guy) of Sussex; two sons, Terry Beers (Susan) of Ottawa, Craig Beers (Sherri) of Calgary; five grandchildren, Jackie, Kyle, Alex, Sammantha and Tyler and four great grandchildren, Holden, Blake, Morra and Soren. He is also survived by five brothers, Lowell (Alice) - of Emmerson, Wayne (Brenda) of Ford Bank, Fred (Jan) of Mundleville, Richard (Joan) of Sudbury, MASS, Gene (Dawn) of Westford, MASS; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Debbie, many nieces and nephews, step-siblings, Boyd, Nancy, Grace and Donald Morris.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by four brothers, Albert, Lewis, Kenny and Phillip and two sisters, Irene and Mabel.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto on Saturday from 7 to 9 pm, Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, Monday at noon until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 2:00 pm, St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, South Branch.
Donations in Terry’s memory may be made to the St. Peter’s Cemetery Fund or the Memorial Tree.
