Bastarache, Rosa Bastarache
1924-2016
Rosa Bastarache, 92, formerly of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent and Moncton, passed away on Thursday April 21, 2016 at the Résidence Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur (NDSC) in Dieppe. Born on April 5, 1924 in Notre-Dame, she was the daughter of the late Amand and Alma (Allain) Cormier.
Her generous services and fine expertise made of Rosa an exceptional teacher who assisted many students in different schools until her retirement in 1979 at Sainte-Anne-de-Kent school. She was a remarkable volunteer at church as well as at the hospital and a devoted member of the Société des enseignantes et des enseignants retraités francophones du Nouveau-Brunswick and the Association des Religieuses NDSC.
She is survived by two children: Anne Bourque of Moncton, and Daniel (Cheryl) of Dieppe; four grandchildren: Matthieu, Jessica, Joshua and Maya; one sister, Irène Rouleau of Montréal; one sister-in-law, Alice Cormier (late Cyril); and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur (1979); four sisters: Sr Lucienne Cormier (NDSC), Marie McDonald, Aurore LeBlanc and Dorilla Cormier-Quillian; two brothers: Gérard and Cyril.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Roman Catholic church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton, on Tuesday April 26, 2016 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent parish cemetery. In memory of Rosa, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
