BURTT, RUTH ELANOR (HARTT)
Our Aunt, Ruth Eleanor Burtt, passed away at White Rapids Manor in Fredericton Junction on April 24, 2016, in her 100th year. Ruth was born in Fredericton Junction, on March 11, 1916 to the late Edward and Susan (Duchesnay) Hartt and was the wife of the late Victor Burtt (1981) of Trenton, ON.
Ruth is the fourth generation of Hartt’s who named the village of Hartt’s Mills, which was renamed to Fredericton Junction in the late 1800’s. She and Vic spent many summers in Myrtle Beach, NC golfing. She worked 21 years until her retirement at DND in CFB Trenton, ON. She then moved back to NB. Ruth was always a lady and she loved playing Bridge and getting out for a good golf game. She was able to attend the International Hartt Reunion in 2005, where she enjoyed meeting cousins she didn’t know.
She is survived by several of her nieces and nephews of her 11 siblings, who just held a 100th Birthday party for her in March.
Ruth was the last surviving member of her family. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her brothers; Harold, Perley, Frank, David, Edward, Arthur, her sisters; Edith, Mary, Elizabeth, Alice and Clara.
Funeral Service will take place at Sunbury Funeral Home, Central Blissville, on Thursday April 28, 2016 at 11am with Bishop George Lemmon officiating. Interment will be in Gladstone Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth’s memory to a charity of donor’s choice.
Arrangements are in the care of Sunbury Funeral Home, Blissville, NB.
