Cecil Lines

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Cecil Edward Lines age 76 of Amherst announce his passing on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the QE II Health Science Centre, Halifax, NS.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Ernest and Melvina (Sears) Lines.
Cecil was a printer by trade working at the Globe and Mail in Toronto, Amherst Daily News and Sackville Tribune. In later years he was a “jack of all trades” wanting to help everyone with his skills.
He will be sadly missed by his long-time partner, Sadie Banks, his children Stephen (Donna) Lines of Nappan, Tracey (Earl) O’Blenis of Moncton and Laurie Ann (Kevin) Nelson of Tidnish and their mother Ivy Legere of Amherst, grandchildren Terri-Lynn, Scott, Moira, Amanda, Jessica, Daniel, Ryan, Devlin, Quinlan and Sullivan, great grandchildren Jacob, Mason and Lincon and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Cecil was predeceased by daughter Kathy Allan and brothers Ralph and Stanley.
At Cecil’s request, his remains have been donated to Dalhousie University for medical research.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 2 - 5 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-9906)
