WISTED, LEO
Surrounded by his family, Leo Thomas Wisted passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2016 at his residence. Born in Saint John, NB on July 9, 1933 he was the son of the late Leo Joseph and Sadie (MacMackin) Wisted.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Mary Lorraine “Lorrie” Wisted; brother Robert Wisted and sister Marjorie Duplisea.
Leo served in the RCAF during the Korean War, stationed in Germany during the Hungarian uprising. In later life he was an instructor with the Atlantic Canada Air Cadet Gliding Program, and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 58. Leo worked for NBCC Saint John for 10 years. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Leo will always be remembered for his sense of humour, kindness and giving nature.
He is survived by his sons Pat (Dawn Marie) of Winfield, BC, Jeff (Michelle) of Saint John and Mark (Nancy) of Cambridge Station, NS; daughter Fay Ann Wisted of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Katie, Kristen, Steven, Ryan, Sean, Rebecca and Rachel; step-grandchildren Dylan, Cayley, Maggie, Calum and Hailey; great-grandchildren Jaymes, Logan, Haylee, Riley Ann and Mila Rose; several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A tribute to a Veteran Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 2 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
