CAUDLE, John “Eric”- Lockeport, passed away April 16, 2016 at Roseway Hospital, Sandy Point, with his devoted wife at his side. Eric was born in Truro in 1935 to Jack and Muriel (Smith) Caudle who predeceased him. During his lifetime Eric travelled and was employed throughout mainland Canada and spent his retirement years in Lockeport. Eric suffered a great deal in recent years due to the complications of aneurysm surgeries that saved his life in 2001 and 2002. He fought back bravely to stand and walk, succeeding with admirable success due to his strong work ethic and determination. Eric is survived by his wife, Lillian (Davis) Caudle and their son, Richard Bliss and wife Margaret, Long Island, New York; their daughter, Sheila (Bliss) Ingram, husband Chip, North Carolina. Both Eric and Lillian were proud of their grandchildren, Jessica, Valerie, Erica, Samantha Ingram, Richie and Jennifer Bliss. They were also fortunate to have seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is Eric’s brother, Gerald and wife Anne, Musquodoboit Harbour; sister, Barbara Stephens and husband Ron, North River; sister, Lorna Bushen and husband David, Oxford. Eric had many nieces, nephews and devoted friends. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes & Crematorium Ltd. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, May 4 at 11:00 A.M in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Shelburne with Pastor Wayne Dooks officiating. Donations in Eric’s memory may be made to the local chapter of the VON or the Paraplegic Association of Nova Scotia. Lillian and family would like to thank the physicians, Dr. Eoghan O’Sullivan and Dr. Mark Riley, for the excellent care they provided Eric. Also to be commended is the dedicated and compassionate nursing staff, certificated care assistants at Surf Lodge Nursing Home, Lockeport.
