MANNING, MARJORIE JEAN
M. Jean Manning, 93, of Monarch Hall, Riverview, and formerly of Shediac, passed away peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her four children, on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a member of First Baptist Church Moncton. Mom was born in Saint John to the late Ella (Bailey) and Walter McColgan in December of 1922, one of two children and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mom married Gordon M. Manning in June of 1946 at St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Saint John and they had 54 wonderful years together until Gordon’s passing in 2001. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Burton W. McColgan.
Jean will be sadly missed by her children, Heather Sinsofsky (Jerry) of Hudson, QC, Diane Ingersoll (Gerald) of Saint Andrews, Brian Manning (Leslie) of Edmonton, AB and Kathy Chorney (Trent) of Edmonton, AB; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Nicola), Craig (Pascale), Emily (Corey), Jessica (Jeff), Tressa (Scott), Spencer, Fraser (Melissa), Laura (Daniel), Jordan, Cassandra, Katrina and Brianna; ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. J. Richard Jackson officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be held in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
