NELSON, VIOLET ECHO (PHILLIPS)
It is with sadness that the family of Violet Echo Nelson (Phillips) of Tracy, NB announce her passing at York Care Center in Fredericton, NB on April 26, 2016. Violet was born in Tracy, NB, on February 20, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Lillian Nason and Harry Phillips.
Violet was employed with T.S Simms & Co manufacturing for 29 years in Saint John, NB. She was also an active member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary (Lancaster Legion Branch), the Senior’s Club, and Club 65.
She will be missed by her son, Phillip (Cheryl) Nelson of Oromocto; daughter, Laina (Neil) Boone of Saint John; half-sister, Mary Schotanus of Fredericton; half brother, Ronald (Rose) Ferguson of Fredericton; five grandchildren, Nelson (Donna), Ryan, Jonathan (Cassandra), Tamara (Peter) and Todd (Sonya) and five great-grandchildren, Tegan, Madeline, Gracelyn, Finley and Benjamin as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Violet was predeceased by her loving husband, Ronald Nelson; sisters, Mildred Carr, Noreen Carr and half brother Fred Ferguson.
Visitation will be held in the sanctuary of the Tracy United Baptist Church, Friday, April 29, 11:00 am. Funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. James Harrison officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service in the Family Center. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Greenwood Cemetery, Saint John, NB.
If you wish, donations may be made in memory of Violet to the Tracy United Baptist church or a charity of your choice.
