It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Thomas "Tom" Henry Jury at the young age of 62. Tom passed away at his home in Warren, NS, on Friday, April 22, 2016.
Born in Newmarket, ON, he was a son of the late James and Katherine (Wettlaufer) Jury.
Tom was an electrician by trade, and worked on his own for a time, for Rayel Services and the Springhill Prison before joining Nova Scotia Power where he was employed for over 25 years until his retirement in September of 2013. He enjoyed four-wheeling, backyard target practice, astronomy, photography, reading and most of all spending time with family and friends and his beloved dog Bella.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Sharon, Warren; daughters Lisa (Preston) McConnell, Calgary, AB, Jara "Sky" (Jim) Pinto, Pembroke, ON, Amythest "Amy" (Jonathan) O'Brien, Amherst; brothers John (Grace), Alliston, ON; Arthur (Joanne), Hanwell, NB; sisters Ann Connors, Halifax, NS; Jeanette (David) D'Aubin, Stratford, PEI; grandchildren Isaac and Simon McConnell, Jasmine, Ethan and Evan Pinto, Connor and Cale O'Brien, and Kiera Brayley; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Barry Connors.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 11 am, Ruth Gamble, DLM, officiating. Burial will follow in the Christ Church Cemetery, Amherst.
