It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Richard David Griffith husband of the late Mary Margaret Griffith which occurred on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late William and Mary (Doran) Griffith. He was employed with Lantic Sugar for 32 years until his retirement. He is survived by two sons: Greg of Ottawa and Bernie (Johanna) of St. Bruno, QC; one daughter: Susan Flewelling (Scott) of Halifax; two sisters: Jeanne O’Brien of Fredericton and Joan Perry (Ronald) of Ottawa; seven grandchildren: Peter, John, Matthew, Patrick, Joseph, Nadia and David; several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by seven brothers: Paul, Patrick, John, William, Tony, Gordon and Stephen; two sisters: Margaret and Scholly.
Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John (634-1965) with visiting on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 5 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 12:10 pm. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB, Canadian Down Syndrome Society and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
