BABIN, JOSEPH EDWARD "BRIAN"
It is with great sadness that the family of Brian Babin announce his unexpected passing at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital on Thursday, April 28, 2016. He was born in Bathurst, NB on June 2, 1959, a son of the late Gerald ‘Chic” and Thelma (Thibodeau) Babin.
Brian moved to Nackawic in 1970 with his family. He loved playing music and played with such bands as the Stairs Band, Stillwater and the Common People. He was employed at the Nackawic Mill for over 30 years as a Brownstock Operator, taught Boy Scouts for 20 years and a volunteer Fire Fighter and Ambulance Service in Nackawic. Brian was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting along with being an excellent woodworker and knife maker.
Brian is survived by his loving wife Martha (Tucker) Babin; children Randy Babin (Karen), Bradley Babin (Rebecca), Justin Chapman (Nicola), Stephanie Henry (Brent); grandchildren “who he was so proud and loved” Trenton Anderson-Babin, Randy Babin, Isabelle Brewer, Katelyn Henry, Amelia Henry; siblings Judy Babin (Ed), Darren Babin (Shirley), Lise Babin; nieces and nephews Kristin Babin, Dustin Babin, Chelsea Babin.
Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 7 to 9 PM. A service celebrating Brian’s life will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM from Smythe Street Cathedral, followed by cremation. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service.
For those who wish to remember Brian by way of a memorial contribution, the family has suggested the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
Pallbearers are Drew Thibodeau, Marc McDonald, Gary Bragdon, Scott McDonald, Brady Moore, Jerry Holland.
