WHITE, ARTHUR
Peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB Arthur Vernon White passed away. Born in St. Stephen, May 10, 1925, the son of Vernon and Harriet (Cameron) White.
He was predeceased by his wife, Donna (McGibbon); parents; siblings; Morton, Guy, Althea and Mary (Logan), nephew, Dwight Logan.
Art is survived by his children; Holly (Tom) Bartlett, Heather (Robert) Estey, Gary (Mary) White, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one niece and six nephews.
Art was a proud veteran of World War II serving in the Royal Canadian Navy onboard the HMCS Saskatchewan in the North Atlantic. He was past president of the St. Stephen Branch Royal Canadian Legion; a member of Sussex Lodge and was a Luxor Shriner.
He was the president and owner of "A.V. White Trucking" from 1967 until his retirement in 1988 providing employment to many people over those years.
Resting at The S. O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB from where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 2 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Royal Canadian Legion Branch #9 St. Stephen will conduct a Tribute to A Veteran Service on Tuesday evening at 6:45 PM. Interment at Moores Mills Cemetery, Moores Mills, NB.
