Robert "Bud" MacKenzie

Robert Earl “Bud” MacKenzie, loving husband of Elizabeth (Dunn) (Conrad) MacKenzie, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Newcastle, NB on May 14, 1934 he was the son of the late Allen James and Laura (Mazerolle) MacKenzie.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother Hubert MacKenzie; sisters Jean Walsh and Connie Firlotte; sister-in-law Peggy James.
In addition to Betty, his loving wife of 38 years, he is survived by his step-children Steven Conrad (Barb) of Halifax, Ellen Snodgrass (Donald) of Sussex and Jill Conrad of Halifax; grandchildren Matthew Conrad (Megan), Ben Snodgrass (Heather), Jeff Conrad (Dallas) and Troy Conrad (Jenn); three great-grandchildren; sisters Donna Short, Margaret Harrington (Raymond) and Sandra Wetmore (Wayne) all of Saint John; sister-in-law Doreen MacKenzie of Saint John; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bud worked as a Sheet Metal Fabricator and Sign Builder. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 69, he loved handcrafts and spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for his kindness and gentle ways. Bud and Betty were avid volunteers in several organizations.
By Bud’s request, there will be no visitations. Following cremation a graveside service will be held at Fernhill Cemetery, 200 Westmorland Road, Saint John on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 2 p.m. Procession will leave cemetery office at 1:50 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Bud’s memory may be made to the SPCA Animal Rescue or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
