McSHANE, DAVID
David John McShane, loving husband of Dorothy (Wilson) McShane, passed away on Wednesday, May 4th, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Guernsey, England on February 23rd, 1943 he was the son of the late Frank and Florence (Carr) McShane.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his daughter, Cindy McShane, brother, Claude, brother in law Junior and parents in law; Dorothy (Goddard) Wilson and Levi Wilson.
In addition to Dorothy, his loving wife of 53 years, he is survived by his children; John David and Penny McShane (Wade Osman) of Saint John, brothers; Tommy (Mildred) of Sussex, NB and Delbert (Alice) of Alberta, sisters; Sheila Smith of Sussex and Lynn McAra of London, England. He will be missed by his cherished grandchildren; Joshua and Sierra.
David was a socializer who was easy to love. He was very proud of his grandchildren; Joshua and Sierra. Family was most important to him. He worked throughout his life at McKnight Motors and Bill’s Taxi, David collected a wide variety of model cars and guitars. He enjoyed decorating his own cars, a trait passed down to his children.
David will be missed at the Sussex Flea Market, an event he has attended with his family for over 40 years.
Family and friends are welcome to attend visitations hours where David will be resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Saturday, May, 7th, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.In keeping with David’s wishes, no funeral service will be taking place although a private family interment will be held at a later date.
