McEACHERN, KATHLEEN
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved “Mumma”, Kathleen (Hanrahan) McEachern on Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Rexton Lions Nursing Home, at the age of 92. Born in 1923 in Main River, Kent County, Kathleen was the daughter of James and Wilhelmia Hanrahan.
She was the last surviving member of her family having been predeceased by her sister Mary Hennessy and her brothers Robert "Bob", Michael and Maurice.
Kathleen and her husband Orley moved to Newcastle in 1949… where she was a devoted full time mother to her five children: Maureen Jefferies (John), Neil (Suzanne)McEachern, Teresa McEachern, Nancy McEachern (Joan) and Tom McEachern, 13 grandchildren: Kathleen Gaudet, Kimberly Graham, Sara, Mary and Alan Jefferies, Darren, Tara, Jason, Amy, Brian, Mark McEachern, Michael and Marley McEachern, eight great-grandchildren: Malcolm and Lauren Graham, Monica and Tanya Gaudet, Caleb and Odin Jefferies, Jack Perry and Amelia Jefferies.
Kathleen McEachern is resting at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, Miramichi, with visitation on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday May 13, at 12 noon at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot of the church cemetery.
In memory of Kathleen donations may be made to the Rexton Lions Nursing Home or a memorial of one’s choice would be appreciated.
