John Flahr

John Flahr
I am sad to announce the passing of my dearest love, John. John passed away at the Regina General Hospital on Saturday, May 7,2016 with family by his side, at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Margaret, loving father of Roanne Prince, Jeannie Flahr and Patty Flahr, cherished grandfather of Sheena, Natasha, Rebecca, Tamissa, Ethan, Kiera, Tristin and Cheyenne, great-grandfather of Izaiah. He will be greatly missed by his brothers Alec, Bill (Dolores), Bob (Sandra) and by his sisters Adeline Walsh and Lorraine Flahr, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. John was predeceased by his parents, brother Raymond, grandson D.J. and by his brother-in-law Morley Walsh. John was born in Moose Jaw on July 31, 1945 to Alex and Rose Flahr. He attended Peacock High School and went to work immediately after finishing high school in various jobs, some of which took him to BC, Alberta and Ontario, however home was Moose Jaw so he returned to the area and found his place working on the shrimp boats in Chaplin, SK, a job and place he loved. In 2007 he became re-acquainted with Margaret, an old friend, and they were wed on December 12, 2012. The couple lived both in Moose Jaw and in Chaplin, planning to eventually settle in Chaplin. John enjoyed getting together with close friends and family, playing cards and relished the summer BBQ's in his spacious yard in Chaplin. He was a real people person making good close friends wherever he went, especially if they were willing to sit down and watch a wrestling match with him. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 6:00 pm at Parkview Funeral Chapel to celebrate John's life, all are welcomed. Further, a memorial BBQ will be held on July 30, 2016 at a time to be announced in Chaplin, SK.
