William "Bill" Porter, 70 years of age, of Amherst, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Moncton City Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Amherst he was a son of the late Leon & Pearl (Hughes) Porter. Bill loved Cars & Motorcycles.
Most of his free time was spent working on them. He liked a challenge and was always ready to tackle a project head on.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Billy (Donette) of Schreiber, ON, daughter, Dawn Porter ( Phil Raymond) of Schreiber ON, their mother, Doreen Thornton, Stephen of Amherst, N.S., Gary of Toronto, ON,, several grandchildren & great grandchildren; his first wife, siblings, Barb Dorion (Leo) of Mississauga Arlene Cormier (Doug) of Florida, USA, Gary ( Nancy) of Amherst, N.S. , Janice Coleman (John) of Amherst, Vickie Topp ( Byron) of Lawrencetown, NS.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Pat Porter.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, N.S. (902-667-8777). No visitation or funeral service by request.
