DURLING, HELEN AMY
The passing of Helen Amy Durling of Fredericton, NB, formerly of Marysville, NB, wife of the late Sheldon Durling occurred on Monday, May 10, 2016 at Windsor Court. Born on January 5, 1921 in Temperance Vale, NB, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Laura (Pike) Henry.
Prior to retirement Helen had been switch board operator at UNB. She was an active member of Marysville Baptist Church; Morning Out Group; Stepping Stones and also sang with the Troubadours. Helen enjoyed tracing genealogy, traveling, and exercising. She will be remembered as a very social person that lived life to the fullest.
Helen is survived by her sons, Lawrence Durling of Fredericton, NB and Clifton Durling (Marilyn) of Doaktown, NB; grandchildren, Catherine Durling (Mike Mercier), Emily Durling, Jennifer Best (James) and Joanne Dudley (Kerry); great-grandchildren, Onyx, Zander, Madison, Rachel, Cameron, Josh, Jayden and Dylan; sister, Marjorie Miller of Fredericton, NB; brother, Alton Henry (Myrna) of Fredericton, NB and sister-in-law, Gertrude Henry of Fredericton, NB.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Leland and Lloyd.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Marysville United Baptist Church on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Peter Sherwood officiating. Interment will take place in Upper Meductic Cemetery on Friday at 4:30 pm.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Marysville United Baptist Church, Stepping Stones or the charity of the donor’s choice.
