CARTEN, SYLVIA
Sylvia Anne Carten, 84, of Sussex, passed away on Saturday May 14, 2016 at the Sussex Health Centre. Born in Campbellton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Kathleen (nee Milbery) McMorran.
Sylvia is survived by her daughter Deborah Drury (Don Brown) of Picadilly; her grandchildren: Barret Black (Jodie), Dana Black (Kim), and Jordan Black; five great-grandchildren: Jacie, Brody, Brielle, Gavin and Derek; a step-great-grandson Quinn Geldart; her sisters: Betty Scovil of St. Andrews and Patricia Sheen (Peter) of Beaverbank, NS; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Besides her parents, Sylvia is predeceased by her husband, Russell Carten, and her brothers: Robert, Glenn and Francis McMorran.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex, from where visitation will be held on Monday May 16, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm; the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 3:30pm in St. Paul’s United Church with Rev. Scott Hillier presiding. Interment will be held in Kirkhill Cemetery.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated by the family.
