New Glasgow: Alvin Wayne Priest, age 65, of MacDonald Street, New Glasgow passed away on Thursday May 19th, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Priestville he was a son of the late Edison and Ella (MacDonald) Priest .
Alvin was a resident of New Glasgow for the past 42 years.
He was a retired employee of Michelin Tire. After retiring, Alvin enjoyed helping his brother-in-law Seymore doing forestry work.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow.
Alvin enjoyed spending time with family, especially watching his granddaughters play hockey.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary MacNeil; daughters: Tracy Purvis (John MacDonald) of MacLellan’s Brook, Tammy Priest (Trevor MacInnis) of Westville; granddaughters: Carlin, Garyn, Rogan and Hallie; brothers: Hector Priest of New Glasgow, Raymond (Pearl) Priest of Trenton, Russell (Wanda) Priest of Blue Mountain; sisters: Charlotte MacKeeman of Linacy, Jane Farrell (Jerry MacPherson) of Churchville, Vera Jean (Steve) Patterson of Elmsdale, Michelle (Phillip) Rector of Priestville.
Alvin was predeceased by sons Billy and Jason, also a brother Gordon.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. on Saturday in the H.W.Angus Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 2 P.M. with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
