Miller, R. "Betty" E.
The death of Rosalie "Betty" Elizabeth Miller of Quispamsis, occurred on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born on October 13, 1922 in Rothesay, NB, she was a daughter of the late George and Catherine (Darcus) Miller.
Betty worked as a hairstylist at Rothesay Beauty Parlour which she operated out of her home in Rothesay for 66 years. She enjoyed bowling, and was avid about fund raising. She donated generously to the Usher Miller Fields, and hosted an annual Tea Party for seniors at all local nursing homes. Betty received the award from Beta Sigma Phi for Woman of the Year in May 1984.
Betty is survived by her sister in law Jannie Miller, six nieces and one nephew, as well as several great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters; Muriel Miller, Constance Miller, Audrey Pooley, Phyllis Lamb, Joan Byers, and Helen Withrow, brothers; Usher Miller, Arthur Miller, Harry Miller, and Jordan Miller.
As per Betty's request there will be no visitation. A memorial service to celebrate Betty's life will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 2PM.
