DeLONG, AGNES THELMA
The passing of Agnes Thelma DeLong (Grant) of Fredericton, NB occurred on May 30, 2016 at York Care Centre. Born in Canterbury, NB, on January 14, 1923, she was the daughter of the late James and Minnie (Collicott) Grant. Agnes was predeceased by her husband Gilbert Stanley DeLong.

Agnes is survived by her children, Larry (Valerie) of Nasonworth, NB, and Lori DeLong (Usama) of Oakville, ON; four grandchildren, Emily and Christopher DeLong and Eren and Sera Buyukbicer; chosen grandchild, Jill Brewer; sister‑in‑law, Mavis Jamieson; brothers‑in‑law, Stan Jamieson and Al Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Hilda Donovan and Leah Lawrence.

Agnes worked at CIBC on Smythe Street for many years and later joined her husband upon his retirement from government when he continued the family business, DeLong’s Draperies. Agnes enjoyed playing bridge, dancing and spending time with friends and family. She also spent many summers at the family’s cottage at Davidson Lake.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life being held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on June 2, 2016, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
