Mykytiw, Heather Joanne (nee Hanley)
Passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw with her daughters by her side after a very brief illness. Heather, at the age of 73, beloved mother of Angela Mykytiw and Zoe Mykytiw, cherished sister of Karey Rowe (Rob), Larry and Gail Mykytiw, aunt of Laurie Wehner (Kim), Tie, Marcy and Travis Mykytiw. She will be fondly remembered by numerous extended family and friends. Heather was born to Fred and Jessie Hanley in Moose Jaw, on March 31, 1943. She grew up attending William Grayson public school and later graduated from Peacock Collegiate. Following graduation, Heather went to work as a telephone operator and also did some local modeling. She married Eugene Mykytiw on December 14, 1963 and the couple began their family in Moose Jaw in 1964. Although Heather was a dedicated homemaker, she was skilled at bookkeeping, so she was always involved in the family businesses. Heather was very artistic and enjoyed painting with water colours. She had a flair for interior design, and a love of fine antique furniture. She became an expert, spending countless hours on arduous historical research. All are invited to a Memorial Tea to be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in The Redpath Lounge at Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St. W, Moose Jaw. Memorial donations to the Moose Jaw Humane Society, 1755 Stadacona St. W, Moose Jaw, SK, S6H 7K7 would be appreciated.
