Pollock: Ralph Emerson age 77 of Abbey, SK passed away at Prairie Health Care Facility in Cabri, SK on May 25, 2016. The graveside service was held on June 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Abbey Community Cemetery with Reverend Salesi Takau officiating. Ralph is survived by his wife of 54 years Agnes; children Deena (Dean) Coburn and Trent Pollock; grandchildren Jonathan (Megan) Coburn, Nicole Coburn, Brooke Pollock, and Benton Pollock; sisters Betty (Jack) George, Dean Bastow, Darl (Bob) Forrest, and MaryAnn Reidy; brother Dick Pollock; brother-in-law Eugene Mizernik; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Emerson and Ellen; sisters Ellen and Trude; brothers-in-law Bob, Joe, Dennis, and Emmett; sister-in-law Judy; nephew Michael, and parents-in-law Mike and Julia. Ralph was born on June 4, 1938, he was the 7th child of 8 children born to Emerson and Ellen Pollock. Ralph received the majority of his schooling in Abbey. After school he worked in the oil patch for a time and then returned home to farm, living on his Uncle Archie's place east of Abbey, SK. Ralph married Agnes Mizernik on October 20, 1961 in Abbey. They went on to have two children Deena and Trent. Ralph farmed until retiring in 2006, always staying involved and interested in the farm, puttering around at the quonset, doing odd jobs and running errands. Ralph served as a councilor for the R.M. of Miry Creek for 9 years. He served on the executive of the Abbey Eagles Hockey Club, and the Abbey School Board. Ralph enjoyed hunting and fishing in the area and also making many trips up north. He really enjoyed it when he finally got his own cabin at Beaupre. He also took up downhill skiing at the age of 50. Ralph was a very proud grandpa, always interested in whatever the grandkids were doing. He thoroughly enjoyed the "farm" chats he had with the boys as well as teasing and quizzing the girls.
