JJohanna Wilhelmina (Fokker) Post
Plymouth, NS – Johanna Post, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, June-06-16 in the Aberdeen Hospital with her family by her side.
Born December 20, 1925 in Bussum, the Netherlands she was the daughter of the late Gerardus and Johanna (Krinen) Fokker.
Johanna immigrated to Canada in 1952. As a new bride she worked very hard alongside her husband Adrian to establish the family farm, and devoted her life to raising her family of seven children. Jo always had a pot of tea ready, and family and visitors alike were always welcome at her table. Although many have tried, no one could quite master the exact taste of her Dutch soup.
Through the years Jo was a member of the Women’s Institute, a 4-H leader, and most recently a member of the Plymouth Golden Glen club where she enjoyed a weekly game of cards. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren. She always enjoyed each visit and phone call she received which allowed her to keep up with their activities and accomplishments.
She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Ann (Harry) Conway, Ronnie (Dorothy) Post, Plymouth, Wilma (Alex) Fraser, Lower Sackville, Gerald (Yvonne) Post, Truro, Jo-Ann (Brian) McCullum, Pearsonville, NB, Riek (Rob) Matheson, Plymouth, Engelina (Kevin) Crouse, Bridgewater.
