GAUDET, VALERIE AURELE "VAL"

June 1, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with love and in sadness the Gaudet family announce the passing of Val Gaudet on June 1, 2016 at the age of 92 years. Val loved life and embraced all it had to offer.

He served in the RCAF (1942–1946) and upon returning home to New Brunswick he found his niche in the insurance industry. His work took Val and his family west to Calgary where he worked in the industry into his seventies. He was a people person and storyteller – a great salesman! His warm friendly manner, good humour and devotion to his family will be forever remembered. He established long lasting relationships with many in his life’s journey.

Val is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances (nee Hall), three children: Angela (Larry) of Calgary, Tani of Toronto, and Vincent (Jennifer) of Calgary, five grandchildren: Darren, Laura, Suzanne, Katlyn and Davis, all in Calgary, brother Gerald (Imelda) Gaudet of Moncton, NB and numerous nieces and nephews.

Val was predeceased by his parents Edmond and Anna Gaudet and 11 brothers and sisters.

The family wish to extend their gratitude to the doctors and caregivers of Units 10 and 11 and the Palliative Care team at the Foothills Hospital. The care and compassion extended to Val and his family was unmeasurable.
