Charlene 'Arlie' Myatt
Born: July 15th, 1943
Passed in: Middle Cape
Passed on: June 16th, 2016
It is with great sadness, that we, the family of Charlene ‘Arlie’ (Donovan) Myatt, 72, of Middle Cape, regret to announce her passing on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at home.
Born July 15, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Cordella ‘Cuddles’ (Sellars) Donovan.
Besides politics, her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends in her Middle Cape home enjoying the breathtaking view of the Bras d’Or Lakes. Anyone who knew her and her strong will, knew how determined she was to live to surpass her “expiration date” and live long enough to see Stephen Harper be replaced by her political hero, Justin Trudeau.
She is survived by her husband and constant companion of 54 years, Fred; daughter, Shauna (Phillip) Anthony, Liverpool; son, Jeffery, Sydney; granddaughter, Jennifer (Ryan Neilson), Lower Sackville; grandson, Darren, Halifax; niece, Shelly MacMillan, Sydney and her children, Nicole and Matthew. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Eva Jabalee and family, North Sydney; special cousin and close friend, Barbara Newell (Tom), N.B.; her pride and joy, Cuddles, her fur baby.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Heather Plumridge; brother-in-law, Tom Plumridge; close cousin, Shirley Kitchen; sister-in-law, Vera Myatt; and a child in infancy.
As per her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to palliative care at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
The family gratefully acknowledges palliative care, Dr. Anne Frances D’Intino and the VON, especially Stacey Bresowar, who went above and beyond with the care and compassion they provided our wife/mother. A special thank you to everyone who helped during these last couple of months. Wilma and John McGrath, words cannot express our appreciation for everything that you have done.
