Gerald Doucet

DOUCET, GÉRALD “GERRY”
1938–2016
Gérald “Gerry” Doucet, 77, formerly of Moncton, Dieppe and Bouctouche, passed away on Sunday May 22, 2016 at the Villa du Repos in Moncton. Born on November 15, 1938 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Arthur and Roseanna LeBlanc) Doucet.

Prior to his retirement, Gérald was a French teacher at Harrison Trimble High School. He loved hockey, politics, literature and dreamed of becoming a famous writer. An acadian artist, Gerry was a painter who reflected his passion through his paintings of Bouctouche and the Pays de la Sagouine.

He is survived by three children: Guy of Moncton, Joël of Sherbrooke, QC, and Janelle of Montréal, QC; his former wife, Jeannette (LeBlanc) of Memramcook; his sisters and brothers: Bertha Bonin (feu Mark) of Nova Scotia; Louise McInerney (late Ray), Loretta Doucet, Marcel (Shirley) and Raymond, all of Saint John; Josephine Bordage (late Alfred) of Saint–Charles; several nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by three sisters: Claire, Mary and infant Louise.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858–1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday June 23, 2016 at 4 pm. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 pm until time of funeral. A reception will follow at the centre.

Interment will be in St–Jean–Baptiste cemetery in Bouctouche.
